W.A. HaleWilliam Alexander Hale, 75, died June 20, 1944 at his home 10 miles northwest of Talpa Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock following a heart attach. Decedent had been a resident of Runnels County 46 years and spent most of that time in farming and ranching in the eastern part of the county. He had large land holdings in what is known as the Mud Creek Community. Mr. Hale was born in Hunt County in 1869 and was married to Miss Zula Jane Avent in 1889, the couple moving here to make their home in 1898. Funeral services were held at the Crews Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock, Rev. W.B. Morton, pastor, officiating. Interment followed in the Crews Cemetery. Survivors besides the wife include five daughters (snip); seven sons (snip), and 18 grandchildren. Spill Funeral Home (Winters) was in charge of arrangements. |
