Help Wanted by people living near or in Kaufman County, Texas
Enumerators for cemeteries -- please check with Kathey Hunt first to be sure you're not duplicating someone else's efforts. If you have access to records that may benefit others, you can also transcribe them and have them posted (examples are obituaries (especially those from old newspapers), death records, marriage records, etc. which may be available to you on microfilm. You may also have old photos from Kaufman County which others may enjoy seeing which you can post to the site. Look-up volunteers are always appreciated so if you want to volunteer for a source that hasn't been listed on the look-up volunteers page, please do. If you want to contribute something that is not a primary record and was written after 1923, however, please get permission from the copyright holder before contacting the coordinator. Thanks to all of those people who live in Kaufman County for the great things they have already contributed to making this site what it is today!
Help Wanted by people who don't live near or in Kaufman County, Texas
Send in the information you already have on your Kaufman County relatives. You may have pictures, copies of original records such as marriage certificates, death certificates, obituaries, property deeds, wills, pages out of old Bibles, military records, photos of grave stones, and any number of other things that are valuable to a researcher. You may also have papers of research you or someone else has done on primary records which may also include census records. You can volunteer to help transcribe a portion of the census. If you have a copy of a page from the census which you have photocopies, you can transcribe all of the entries from the entire page. You can also contribute by volunteering to help type up (transcribe) records for the site such as those you have access to on a microfilm (these include census records and any other original records you may have access to), a cemetery enumeration someone else has done (which you can obtain from Kathey Hunt), or anything else that may be useful in typed form but which is in another form (such as images of obituaries posted).
