Died 21 Jan 1863 in Kaufman, Texas & is buried in Kaufman City Cemetery next to his wife and some of his children and grandchildren.
Son of Oliver Parsons & Phoebe Lamphear.
Married in St. Helena Parish Louisiana on 12 Aug 1819 to Mary A. Hill. She was born 18 Jan 1803 Amite Co MS - died 18 Jul 1875. She was daughter of Peter Hill & Rachael Courtney.
They made their home in Baton Rouge until 1843, then came to Texas in 1844 with seven of their children and Mary's father, settling in the Warsaw Prairie area near what is now Scurry.
Dr. Parsons was a farmer & merchant, and in 1847 was granted permission by Henderson County authorities to operate a Toll Ferry across the East Fork of the Trinity River. He was elected and served as a Probate Judge in Henderson & Kaufman Counties, and represented Kaufman in the Fifth Texas Legislature (1853-1854).
