Wilson Fogleman was born 28 Jan 1813 in NC, son of Christian Fogleman and Mary Loftin. It is not known when he moved to Indiana, but on 13 Feb 1835 he married Mary Ann "Polly" Beck, daughter of John J Beck and Annie Rogers in Washington Co IN.
By early 1845 Wilson was in Texas, having come here with his in-laws on a trip that took them more than a year, starting in Indiana, through Missouri and Arkansas, before arriving at their final destination. He received land through Mercer's Colony and signed his Certificate 22 Jan 1845. His land was located in what is now Anderson County, however he sold the land there in 1854 and bought 160 acres of land in what is known as the Black Jack Community of Kaufman County, only a short distance south of John and Annie Beck's homestead.
Wilson Fogleman died 5 May 1871 and is buried beside Polly at College Mound Cemetery, where many members of his family and the Beck family are interred.
