Anna Rogers was born 05 May 1790 in OH,  the daughter of Henry Rogers.   Her family removed from OH to IN and there she met & she married Capt. John J Beck in Washington Co IN  circa 1814 John was Born 25 Aug 1785 in Rowan Co NC Son of Johann George Beck & Elizabeth Ann Claver.

   Annie came to Texas in 1845, settling in what is known as the College Mound area of Kaufman County.  At the time they arrived it was part of Henderson County.

   Annie suffered from consumption, an illness she had been diagnosed with for many years before coming to Texas & she died 19 May 1847.

   John died 06 Jul 1858 & is buried beside Annie in the College Mound Cemetery which is behind the College Mound Church, where they worshipped together. Annie has always been given credit for choosing the location of the College Mound Cemetery. She was one of the first persons buried there, along with more than 50 of her family members & descendants.
