There is a new Veteran's Memorial Park being built in Kaufman and we are looking for veterans from this county who served their country so their names can be inscribed on the memorial walls.
Veterans eligible to be listed on one of the Kaufman County War Monuments must have served during the dates of one of the following Wars or Conflicts:

Spanish American War | April 25, 1898 - December 10, 1898 |
| World War I | April 6, 1917 - November 11, 1918 |
| World War II | December 7, 1941 - December 31, 1946 |
| Korean War | June 25, 1950 - January 31, 1955 |
| Vietnam War | December 22, 1961 - May 7, 1975 |
| Granada & Panama | August 24, 1982 - July 31, 1984 |
| Desert Storm | December 20, 1989 - January 31, 1990 |
| Iraq | April 17, 2003 - Present

To qualify for recognition on the Memorial Walls the veteran must meet at least 2 of the following criteria & proof provided of same:
- Born in Kaufman County
- Attended school in Kaufman County
- Entered service from Kaufman County
- Official government (KIA or MIA notice) telegram sent to a Kaufman County Address
- Name on a newspaper Honor Roll list of Kaufman County dead or missing.
- Cenotaph grave marker in a Kaufman County Cemetery.
- Name in the Kaufman County World War II Book.
- Name on an official government Kaufman County list of honored dead or missing.
- Had an official Kaufman County Address while serving.
