The tax rolls of Kaufman county have been turned over to the tax collector, and in a very few days he will make his annual visit to the various voting boxes of the county. Then will be the time for the people to pay homage to the state and county, and receive the right of suffrage.
W. C. McLeod of Terrell was here yesterday on business.
A. U. Puckett went to Terrell yesterday.
Mose Jacoby, who lives near Parvin, died Saturday very suddenly with meningitis.
Yesterday was horse traders' day in Kaufman and the boys never failed to be on hand with their swapping stock. Fortunately there were no disturbances of any kind on the streets.
Joe Smith was arrested Sunday night, charged with unlawfully shooting a pistol while on his way from the Dallas fair.
The commissioners' court adjourned yesterday, having completed checking up the tax assessor.
County court took up the civil docket yesterday.
Mayor Bond of Terrell was here yesterday on business.
