"Kaufman Society News" Column
The young men of Kaufman gave a dance
Christmas night. Artistic programs indicated
twenty dances. Miss Gladys Taylor with Tom
Mayfield of Tyler led the grand march. Introduc-
ing some pretty Yuletide figures. At 12 o'clock
salads and hot coffee were served. Among the
out-of-town guests were Misses Genevieve Free-
man of Ennis, Clifford Easly, Hattie Mae Mc-
Cord, Emily Roberts, Janie Belie Griffith of Ter-
rell, Mary Alston and Marie Dowell of Dallas,
Emma Richardson and Green Athens and Kate
Gill of Austin; Messrs. Summerfield Roberts,
Holman Cartwright, Clyde Roberts, Ben Saun-
ders, Porter Davis and Jud Hodges of Terrell,
Ben Gill of Austin, Newell Thomas and Albert
Styles of Taylor, Edgar McCain of Hot Springs,
Ark.; Roger Tennant, Moss Thomas, Carl Rug-
ries, Joe Clower, Rex Terrell, Claude and Tom
Sowell of Dallas, Henry Stirman of Athens, Dud-
ley Farris of Ennis, Tom Mayfield of Tyler,
Dowell and Toppin of Dallis. The patrons and
patronesses included Dr. and Mrs. Carl Hoffer of
Nashville, Tenn.; Hon. and Mrs. Jed C. Adams
and Hon. and Mrs. Ed Sewell of Dallas; Messrs.
and Mesdames Frank Ellis, Will Hindman, Trove
Carlisle, Emmet Carlisle, Had Carlisle, J. J.
Gibbs, and Misseh Eva Allen and Adele Hofstet-
ter.
