Searching for George Washington STEWART family
who lived in the Lawrence Community in 1880's. George W. m Susan Virginia

I am trying to find information on Arthur and
Lorene STANFORD. They were living in Longview, Texas or possible surrounding
areas around 1946-1947. They had five daughters - Laverne, Minnie Merle,
Frances, Shirley, and Wanda Joyce. Wanda Joyce was adopted by Roy and Florentyne
Weatherford in Kaufman County. There was Judge Dawson and Attorney Ralph
Prince on this case. The Weatherfords lived in Terrell, Texas. Please e-mail

I would like to confirm that my grandfather,
Charlie SIMS was born in Kaufman County in August 1870. His father, David
SIMS probably died in Kaufman County between 1900 and 1910. I would appreciate
any info on either of these men.

Allen) TURNER married Elizabeth Jane TURNER. Her parente were Samuel TURNER
and Caroline THOMPSON. They had 2 children that I know of, Laura Dezelia
TURNER and Samuel Dow TURNER. Laura was born April 22, 1878 at Turner Point,
Kaufman Co., TX; married James Thomas BROOKS Feb 5, 1899 in Decatur, Wise
Co., TX and died Jan 20, 1918 in Woodbine, Cooke Co., TX Samuel married
Nancy Mas (May) Rebecca BROOKS (sister to James Thomas Brooks), Dec. 26,

My father Cyril Leeman HALL was born in Kaufman
County (Elmo)Texas,February 4, 1900. His father was Ralph E. HALL, born
in Tenn., in 1873. Ralph married Genara (?) about 1897. Genara supposedly
was born in Texas, February, 1878. I would like to find any information
about Genara's maiden name and lineage, and the maiden name of Ralph's
mother.

Looking for ARRICK in Kaufman County, Texas.
John (Johnie) b. about 1860 in TN, married Manerva Harrison (b. TN), and
they moved to Kaufman County, TX. They had children Ethel (b. ?), Claude(b.
1899), Mary (b. 1893), and Leonard (b. 1890, my grandfather). John disappears
(we can't find death records or anything anywhere), and Manerva re-marries
a J. R. ALPHIN (b. Jun. 10, 1857; d. Jul. 20, 1924). We're not quite sure
what happens after that. Plus, we've lost track of John. If you have info
that will help us find more about John ARRICK and Manerva HARRISON, we'd
appreciate it greatly.

ARRICK, BRESHER. In looking for information concerning
my great-grandfather John ARRICK, we came across birth records of one of
his daughters, Mary Lee Arela ARRICK, b. Jan. 13 1893, Kaufman Co., City
of Crandall, Texas. Mother was Manerva Viola HARRISON. Both parents (John
and Manerva) were born in Tennessee (TN) in the 1860-1870 period. When
Mary went to get Social Security benefits, she didn't have her birth records.
So, she had two people sign affadavits swearing to her age. A woman, Sallie
BRESHERS, is shown as signatory on an affadavit, and she lists herself
as Mary's aunt (which side? ARRICK or HARRISON?), on May 31, 1958, and
living at 1513 E. 13th St., Lubbock, TX. The other affadavit signatory
is Fannie E. ALEWINE, on Jun. 2, 1958. No other information is know
about this person. Can someone help us find Sallie BRESHERS' maiden name,
and information about that family?

William T. TALLANT was born in White County,
Tennessee, in 1845 to James and Mary (Rice) TALLANT. He was a private in
the Federal Army and served in the 8th TN Mounted Infantry. He settled
first in Fannin County, TX by 1900 and was in Kaufman Co. TX, by 1910.
I need to know when and where he died, his wife's maiden name (given name
Sarah), and where his children went. He had a brother, Green H. TALLANT,
who also served in the 8th Tenn M.I. Green enlisted in February 1865 at
Granville, TN, and died of measles at home on May 6, 1865. Another brother,
James TALLANT, married Rebecca MARTIN in Putnam County, TN, on October
9, 1881. He disappears after that without a trace, and in all likelihood,
went to Texas with William. I need info on their descendants for inclusion
in my book, "The Descendants of William B. and Eleanor RICE of White County,
Tennessee". Thank You!

Eleanor Rice of White County, TN", which should be out by June or July.
