Kaufman County Probate Book K, page 121 Last Will and Testament of Mary L Johnson Know all me by these presents First - I do wish my body to be committed to the earth but direct that after my death my body shall be embalmed and placed in a vault built above ground, which vault I do direct to be erected of solid and substantial charactered material, and to be placed on a lot of sufficient size so that it may be somewhat off to itself and that it be surrounded by a neat and substantiate iron fence. Second - I will and direct that all of my just debts be paid by my executor, hereinafter named. Third - I give, devise and bequeath to my niece, Mary Kate Lenoir, one thousand dollars, also my silver card case and my gold thimble. Fourth - I give, devise and bequeath to Mary Lou Jones, daughter of Wallace and Jennie Jones, the sum of one thousand dollars. Fifth - I give, devise and bequeath to Mary LaFrances Lewis, daughter of E C Lewis and SallieLewis, the sum of one thousand dollars. Sixth - I give, devise and bequeath to my great niece, May Louisa Duglesby, the sum of one thousand dollars. Seventh - I give, devise and bequeath to Mrs. John M Lewis my silver waiter, silver soup ladle, 12 silver teaspoons, 12 silver forks, 6 silver tablespoons, silver butter knife, and my diamond breast pin. Eighth - I give, devise and bequeath to my brother, A G Dunnica, the sum of two thousand dollars. Ninth - After paying for the building of the vault mentioned in number one, above, and payment of all debts, I will and direct that the remainder of my estate be disposed of, as follows: Tenth - I hereby appoint John M Lewis executor of my last will and that no Bond be required of him as such Executor. I further direct that no other proceeding shall be had in the county or probate court except to Probate this will and render an inventory and appraisal of any property.
