W. T. Stamps

This house was next door to William's father's home at 104 Howard Street.  His father, Joseph F. Stamps ( 21 Sep 1843 - 24 Aug 1926 ), for many years was the proprietor of a Confectionery from the 1880's to the early 1900's.  Joseph was a Confederate veteran who served in the 53rd Tennessee Infantry, and he moved to Terrell in 1875 with his family.  After his wife, Evalyn, died in 1887, his daughter Eva ( 21 Feb 1877 - 29 May 1950 ), cared for him the rest of his life.  See his Obituary HERE.  His obituary had other pertinent information.

William T., his wife, father, mother and sister are all buried at Oakland Cemetery in Terrell.

* As of 2006, the house is still standing
