Grace Doris 'Gay' Spence

  Services for Grace Doris "Gay" Spence, 84, of Mabank, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Eubank Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Byron Jones officiating.
  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.
  Mrs. Spence died Tuesday in Athens following a short illness.
  She was born April 26, 1913, in Mabank to Henry Lynch and Jenny Kate McClendon Wheat.  A member of the First Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City, she always considered Mabank her home even though she lived in other places.
  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Spence Sr.
  Mrs. Spence is survived by her son, Fred Spence Jr. of Houston; daughters, Linda Spence Wakefield of Athens and Nancy Spence Walding of Apple Springs; nine grandchildren; nine great-grand-children; sisters, Dorothy Teleford of Victoria, Kathryn Busby of Chandler, and Rubicate Warren of Alexandria, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Ila Shaw of Athens; brothers-in-law, Jerry Wheat of New Mexico and Arthur Evans of Houston; and other relatives.
  Pallbearers will be Stephen Logan, Richard Spence, Larry Zuntych, Tim Stover, Scott Herman, and Rob Koenig.
