Note from the Coordinator: Below is a transcription of the obituary. Her husband's name was Wesley Hull Sharrock; he was the son of Sarah Elliott (Knowles) and George Washington Sharrock. Her son J. A.'s full name was John Aubrey SHARROCK and her son J. L.'s full name was Jesse LaFrancis SHARROCK. Her daughter, Maud Lois, married Sidney Lanier Cruise. Her death certificate gives her birth as 10 January 1873 in Kaufman County, TX and her parents as W. J. Stovall born in MS and Mary Walker Gipson born in AR. She died 24 January 1956 in Terrell, Kaufman Co., TX.
Sharrock Rites Held Here Today
Mrs. W. H. Sharrock, 619 North Adelaide Street, passed away at her home Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held from the Anderson-Clayton Chapel at 3:30 p.m. today with the Rev. Thomas E. Hardy officiating.
Interment was in Oakland Memorial Park. Pallbearers included Bill Buford, Frank Crain, Fred Bennett, Mabry High, Charlie Baker, and J. E. Bale.
Murzie Alice Sharrock, a daughter of the late W. J. and Mary Stovall, was born in Kaufman county, Texas on January 10, 1873. She had lived most of her life in this county and for the past thirty nine years had been a resident of Terrell.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was married on July 24, 1892 to W. H. Sharrock and to this union six children were born. One daughter, Mrs. Dan Buie, preceded her in death in 1929 and she is survived by: her husband; two sons, J. A. Sharrock of Dallas, J. L. Sharrock of Terrell; three daughters, Mrs. I. Kirkland of Kaufman, Mrs. J. C. Ledbetter and Mrs. S. L. Cruise both of Terrell; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren: one sister, Mrs. W. B. Nevitt of Dallas.
