NEGRO PRINCIPAL
DIES SUDDENLY IN
DALLAS YESTERDAY

  M. L. Peel, principal of the Colored High School, which is part of the Kaufman Public Schools System, died suddenly in Dallas yesterday.  His wife had accompanied him to that city yesterday morning and thinking his illness only slight had returned to Kaufman.

Peel had been re-elected principal of the school for the coming year.  His application was accepted at a meeting of the school board this week.

The colored principal was said to be a most efficient teacher and his influence among the negroes of this vicinity was considered important in their general welfare and education.  He was also active in religious affairs among the negroes.

Peel had been teaching in Kaufman for many years.

Burial will take place in Dallas tomorrow, according to information received by The Herald.
