Pioneer Passes; Rites at Elm Grove Tuesday

Andy Jones, 91, a citizen of the Arcadia community for more than fifty years, passed away at the family home Sunday night. Funeral services were held at the Elm Grove Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with Dalton Porter officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Henry Eubank & Son Funeral Home of Mabank and burial was made in the Elm Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Jones came to Texas from Tennessee shortly after the turn of the century and located in the Arcadia community where he reared a family of five sons and five daughters. His wife preceded him in death a year or so ago.

Surviving are the sons, Fred Jones of Canton, M. D., Alford, Earl and Ivon Jones, all of the Arcadia community, and Alard Jones of Dallas; five daughters, Mfs. Myrtle Vaughn, Alice Texas; Mrs. H. B. Clark, Mesquite; Mrs. Esther Moore, Tyler; and Mrs. O. B. Gregory of Houston; 39 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; also one brother, Sam Jones; Royce City, and one sister, Mrs. Polly Bellamy, of Kingsport, Tennessee.
