Andrew J. Hunt Obituary

Andrew J. Hunt

  Andrew was born in Terrell, Texas, to John Wesley and Eva B. Hunt.  He was the 11th child of a family of 14.  Leaving school early, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.  After duty in the Mediterranean, he saw duty in Tsingtao and Tiensin, China.  He was recalled back into service with the Marines during The Korean War.  Andrew saw action in Korea as a Section Leader with Weapons Company 3rd Battalion 5th Regiment 1st Marine Division!  His decorations include the Navy Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action, Navy Unit Citation, Good Conduct, Korean Defense with Three Battle Stars, China Service Ribbon, and several other medals and ribbons.  He attained his G.E.D. in The Marine Corps and attended East Texas State University where he received a degree in history and government.  Andrew was employed as a polygraph examiner, an insurance claims adjuster, teacher, small engine repair mechanic, and in his later years a small rancher.  Most of all, Andrew was a Marine!
