Pat Dennehy Citizen Since 1883, is Dead Born in Ireland Ninety Years Ago, He had Lived Near This City for 52 Years. Patrick Dennehy, 90 a resident of Kaufman county since 1883, died at his home in the Rose Hill community Monday night. The funeral will be held at St. John's Catholic Church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. Father McAuliife, pastor, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Oakland Memorial park. Patrick Dennehy was born in County Cork, Ireland, Jan 13, 1845, the son of Michael and Mary Forrest Dennehy. He was married 66 years ago to Miss Mary Vaughan. They came to Texas and Kaufman County in 1883, and Mr. Dennehy had resided in the county continuously until his death. Mrs. Dennehy and five children preceded him in death. Seven sons survive: Tom, John, Ed, Dan, Patrick Jr., David and Michael Dennehy, all living in Kaufman County. Thirty-five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A surviving sister lives in Ireland. Mr. Dennehy had been a life-long member of the Catholic Church and active in its service. He followed the occupation of a farmer throughout his life and achieved marked success as such.
