Mrs. Effie Black
The funeral of Mrs. Slaughter L. Black, who died at the family residence, 211 Bradshaw street, yesterday afternoon will be held from the funeral parlors of Anderson-Clayton -Bros. tomorrow morning, Thursday at 11 o'clock, with Rev. J. B. Rowan, pastor of the local Baptist church, officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland cemetery.
Mrs. Effie Black was born in Gonzales, Texas, December 3, 1875. She was married to Slaughter Black, July 5, 1897. To this union three children were born. Surviving are her husband. Slaughter L. Black of Terrell, and three sons, W.L. of Dallas, J.N. and S.L. Jr. of Terrell. The deceased had been a devoted wife and loving mother to her children. Her neighbors, together with a host of friends, extend their sympathy to the bereaved family. Mrs. Black had been a member of the Baptist church since a girl of 14 years.
Active pallbearers will be: Geo. L. Gray, C.W. McCarthy, E.P. Wallace, John Belcher, Chas. Splawn, Frank McClary and Porter Blain.
