Curtis Leon Ashby, 78, of Burnet, died Monday, August 20, 1990.

He was born May 12, 1912 in the Cedar Grove communitiy of Kaufman County.  Ashby moved to Burnet in 1974 after retiring from farmin in Cotton Center.

He was married to Bernice Stewart on April 26, 1931 in Kaufman County.  She preceded him in death.  He is preceded in death by two sons, Hermon and Ray, three brothers, Herbert, Leroy and Robert, and two sisters, Perly and Hettie.

Services were held Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Burnet with Rev. Raymond Jones officiating.  Interment followed at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph Curtis Ashby of Burnet and Kenneth Wayne Ashby of Cotton Center; four daughters, Wanda Jo Grandau of Cedar Hill, Mary Elizabeth Wigham of Wimberly, Elner Sue Wood of Cotton Center and Ruth Evelyn Byrd of Amarillo; 22 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lois Wells of Artesia, NM and Clara Mae Sisk of Quinlan.
