A private letter to the editors, dated Kaufman, February 21, 1870, says:
"There was a serious difficulty at Canton last week. One of the Moores, a son of Levi Moore, killed two men named Bottom--One of the Moores was also killed and a bystander named Smith was wounded, and it is reported that he has since died of his wounds. The parties are all lads. The killing grew out of some sudden quarrel, and had no connection with the political troubles which occurred there last Summer."
