
George Wingo was kicked out of school in Kaufman in the 8th grade for smoking on the school grounds. He was then put to work by his father in the Wingo's mercantile businesses in Kemp and Kaufman. He later became a newspaper man and owned several newspapers in Oklahoma and served as an Oklahoma State Representative in the 1930's.
