On Porch L-R: Archibald Black McDougald (1820-1905) & Elizabeth Parks McDougald (1832-1918) Note: There is a second residence on the left section of the photograph. There is a notched cedar log out building on the right side of the photo and a split rail fence behind the house. Also, the chicken in the foreground is inside a make-shift wire and post pen. |
CorrectionsNote: The wording above is exactly as it was written there by someone many, many years ago (except that we added the info in parenthesis - birth & death years on each person). The following is from Bobbie Badger bobonding @ yahoo.com: This posting is in need of two corrections. Minnie Lee McDougald Wilkins was my great-grandmother. In this photo, the little girl she is holding is my grandmother, Tennie Elizabeth Barnes Collier. Her name is misspelled. First name is Tennie, not Tinnie. The second correction is the last name of Minnie Lee. Due to what I know about Maggie and Tennie, I would estimate that this photo was taken around 1898. Maggie was born 1894 and was a Wilkins. Tennie was born November 1, 1896. Her father was Robert D. Barnes, son of James Thomas Barnes and Nancy Jane Ledbetter. He married Minnie Lee on January 1, 1896 in Kaufman County. He died October 10, 1896. Minnie did not marry again until July, 1899 when she married Henry Thomas Eubank. So at the time this photo was taken, her last name would have been Barnes, not Wilkins. |
