My grandmother was (Cynthia) Della Fender, who was born in Kaufman Co., TX on January 6, 1874.  Her parents, who had moved from TN to TX just after the Civil War and were married May 10, 1867 in Kaufman Co., TX, were Robert Newton Fender and Tabitha Vashti Brown (Fender).

This is a photo of my grandmother.  It was taken at Peery's Studio in Kaufman Co., TX, in 1890.  (The dates at the bottom, by the studio name, are 1871 and 1890.) I believe the studio was established in 1871 and the photo was made in 1890.

The person in the center is my grandmother (Cynthia) Della Fender, b. 1874 in Kaufman Co., TX, to Robert Newton Fender and Tabitha Vashti Brown.

Surrounding her are her half-sisters, clockwise from lower left: Margaret (Annie), Charity Caroline(Chat), Nora Emeline, and (Mary) Whitley Fender. They were born in Kaufman County.  Their birth years in the same order were 1886, 1887, 1885 and 1888.

After Della's mother died in Kaufman County September 23, 1880, her father married Lucy Cross Lindsey April 19, 1882 in Kaufman Co., and they were the parents of Della's four half-sisters.

We think this photo was made about 1906.
