James Howard Barrett, oldest son of
James Edward Barrett and Bertha Jane Quattlebaum
of Mabank & Crandall.

He served in WWI as Cavalry Sgt. training horses for the military forces and transporting them all over the country.  His brother Ned Barrett served in France during WWI also.

Patty Slaughter Barrett, wife of James Howard Barrett

Patty Slaughter  married James Howard Barrett about 1920.  They had a daughter who died in infancy and Patty died young after only a few years of marriage.  Patty Slaughter and daughter Patty Jo Barrett are both buried in the Kaufman Cemetery.
