My name is Abby Balderama and I am the Coordinator for Kaufman Co., TXGenWeb Project Site. I'm the person responsible for taking care of the technical aspects of this website. I do not live in Kaufman County so research questions should be sent to either the mailing list or the Message Board. There are now enumerations of almost all of the cemeteries in Kaufman County (and some just outside Kaufman County), Kaufman County Marriages from 1848 - 1910 and images of many of the census records available for your viewing on this website. You should start off your research by doing a search of the surname you are interested in by going to Kaufman County Searchable Databases. Then, if you haven't already done so, visit Kaufman County Tips and the pages that are linked on that page. When looking for specific information on your ancestors, your best bet is to first read the pages of the site that are relevant (ie. for questions regarding the cemetery enumerations, see all of the pages in the cemetery section of the site) to see if the answer is already posted. If you don't find the answer you're looking for, the next step is to visit the look-ups page where you will find people who volunteer for and regularly visit this website and are happy to help you by looking in a resource they have on-hand. Please ask a specific question on one or two people and do not ask them for "All of the information" on a family. Since I do not live in Kaufman County, I don't have access to the records that are not already posted on this site and, therefore, I cannot do look-ups for you. If the answer to the question you're looking for is still eluding you, the next step is to post a message on the Message Board or send it to the Mailing List (you will need to subscribe first but it is a free service provided by RootsWeb). This site is intended to be a reference source where interested persons can find family history resources and information while pursuing their search for family members who lived in Kaufman County.
