"Forney Country: A History of
Northwestern Kaufman County, Texas"
by Jerry Flook

Cover

"Forney Country" introduces the reader to a Forney few of us have ever known or even imagined.  It traces its history from a prairie-dog village on the blackland prairie to a rough-and-tumble "frontier" railroad town, to a bustling and prosperous agricultural center.  The text is spiced throughout with quotations from old-timers who were eye-witnesses to the events, whether hilarious, sad, scandalous or tragic, that constitute the town's history.

John Forney

Thoroughly researched and documented, Mr. Flook's book vividly portrays the history of the Forney Area from the days of its Indian inhabitants to the close of World War II.  Over 400 historical photographs, illustrations and maps are included in the 328 page book (8 1/2 x 11 inch format).
