What YOU Can Do to Help Kaufman County CemeteriesThe Kaufman County Historical Commission is currently applying for Historic Designation for all abandoned, desecrated and vandalized burial sites within the county. The application fee for this process is $25.00 and the Historical Commission could use financial assistance with this project.If your ancestors are buried in a cemetery in Kaufman County and you would like to help the Kaufman County Historical Commission apply for Historic Designation on that cemetery (it makes no differences if it already has a Historical Marker - this is a different designation than that) then please send your check for Sponsorship donation to: Kaufman County Historical Commission Be sure to include the NAME OF CEMETERY you would like to Sponsor and the NAME OF YOUR ANCESTORS interred there. The info will be included with the application to the State of Texas. If the cemetery you designate has been previously sponsored, your donation will be used to help another endangered site and you will be notified which site by mail. |
