If you would like to know more about the location of the cemeteries, visit Tips on Locating Burials in Kaufman and Rockwall Counties and Cemetery Sectors: Where the Cemeteries are Located in Kaufman County which are posted on this site. Some of the sites listed are not within the limits of the present Kaufman County line, but they are within one mile of the county's borders, and they contain burials of former Kaufman County residents. Since Rockwall County was formed from a part of Kaufman County in 1873, many Kaufman County residents were buried in cemeteries now in Rockwall County; a list of the cemeteries in Rockwall County that have interments of early Kaufman County pioneers is shown after the list below. The names of the cemeteries that are underlined have more information (enumeration or surname list and/or a photo) on an additional page -- click on the names to view. There is additional information on the cemeteries with an asterisk (*) following their names -- see Additional Information on Kaufman County Cemeteries; this information has been submitted by the visitors to this site. Unless otherwise indicated, Enumerations and Photos Courtesy of the Kaufman County Historical Commission - Cemetery Preservation Committee Thanks to Kathey Kelley Hunt kkhunt @ mycvc.net for submitting many of the enumerations and pictures for use on the Kaufman County, TXGenWeb Project site! The following list contains the cemeteries which are "known"; see the Help find Kaufman County's "Lost" Cemeteries page for a list of cemeteries for which the location is currently unknown. Look-ups are not offered for ALL of the cemeteries in Kaufman County (only those which specifically have a volunteer listed.) See Kaufman County Look-ups to find out more about look-ups offered. |
