Located south of Terrell in a residential section, north of Meadow Way Drive. It is unknown as to how many graves actually exist in this family burial ground as in 1985 a home builder bought the land on which this site is located. During development of homes in the area the old fence which surrounded this tiny cemetery, along with a bois d'arc cross and three tombstones with inscriptions disappeared from the site. Two years later a bull dozer unearthed one of the tombstones, that of Margaret A Crum. This site is now within the fenced confines of a back yard. The home owner does not permit visitation, and in fact, denies the cemetery is on her property when an inquiry is made. The Kaufman County Historical Commission requested permission to photograph the cemetery but was denied access to the site in June 1999 and again in August 2000. This enumeration contains information taken from Death Notices, Obituaries and records of Dennis Stovall, a great-great-grandson of the Crum family and from notes of Frank O'Neal, which were made in 1990. Elizabeth Barks Crum Infant Twins Margaret A Jones Crum Nevada Tabatha Crum There is possibly another daughter of John & Margaret Crum buried here. After Elizabeth Barks Crum died her husband John Crum married Elizabeth Cohorn Heffington. |
