Notes on Kaufman County Cemeteries from the Coordinator
AND Kaufman Co. Searchable Databases Don't know which cemetery your family was buried in? Death certificates filed in Kaufman County after 1903 usually state where the person was buried. Death Certificates may be obtained from the County Clerk: Courthouse on the Square Kaufman, TX 75142 972-932-4331 For other clues, try using one of the Kaufman County, TX Search Engines. You can search the Kaufman County, TXGenWeb site, the SSDI and other databases at RootsWeb. More information will be added to this site, so if you don't find your surname listed on the Kaufman County, TX site now, try again later. If you think your ancestor was buried in one of the cemeteries that someone has volunteered for, ask for a look-up. If you notice an error that you would like corrected in the cemetery enumerations and you have proof of the correct information (ie. a photograph of the gravestone) you may send it to Kathey Kelley Hunt for verification and steps will be taken to make the correction on the website. Corrections will not be made to correct spelling that appears on the actual stone (ie. if your ancestor's name was misspelled on the stone, it will remain misspelled on the enumeration/surname listing on this site). Note that Kathey can NOT place an actual gravestone on your ancestor's grave; however, if you need advise on how to help restore the cemetery where you ancestor is buried, you may write to Kathey K. Hunt If you would like to add additional information on a cemetery such as information you found for your ancestors indicating they were buried in a particular cemetery or you would like to add a notation (for example, indicate the correct spelling of your ancestor's name, etc.), an additional page will be made so this information can be added. These pages will be used as a place where you can add any additional death and/or burial information that you would like; information from sources such as death certificates, obituaries, pension applications, family Bibles and even family rumors will be welcome. When submitting the information, please indicate what source the information came from and whether or not you would like your e-mail address hyper-linked so that other people may contact you. Send the message to the Kaufman Co., TX coordinator, Abby Balderama, with "Kaufman Co. additional cemetery info" in the subject line. Additional information has already been submitted for some of the cemeteries. |
