
UPDATE January 30, 2008After the clean-up in 2004, the cemetery was not maintained and was once again in bad shape. The Juvenile Probationers have completed the clean up of the Blackland Cemetery and will continue maintaining it from now on. They will have a sign made to show their dedication to it's upkeep. |

On Saturday, May 8, 2004, the Order of Confederate Gray (OCG), an organization dedicated to the memory and honor of our Confederate ancestors, began cleaning up the Blackland Cemetery in Kaufman County. The Blackland Cemetery is one of the oldest yet most neglected cemeteries in the county. Broken stones were repaired and fallen stones were returned to their original upright positions. Broken fragments from stones were also found and an attempt to reassemble them was made.
