This is a photograph made by Thomas C. Tune.  He is recognized as the first photographer to operate a photography business in Forney in the 1890's.  Before that time residents would travel to Terrell or Kaufman or Dallas to have their photographic potraits made.   By 1909 he operated the first "movie house" in Forney, which was originally inside a tent.

Note by Charmian Giles:  Thomas C. Tune, besides being a photographer, was the Census Taker (Enumerator) for Precinct 2 for the 1900 Kaufman County Census.
